SUMMARY
- The
Youth Service Sponsorship Scheme has been established to support
Youth Organisations who offer ongoing educational programmes to young
people in accordance with the Northern Ireland Youth Service Curriculum. .
- Youth Service Providers in the Board area should seek recognition
by the SEELB through Registration as a youth organisation.
- Registered Youth Service Providers may apply for Sponsorship Endorsement
Support 'Level 1' to facilitate their curriculum delivery.
- Registered Youth Service Providers assessed as key Priority Units
may receive
Sponsorship Endorsement Support 'Level 2/Level 3' for their Unit's
development.
- The SEELB may directly or indirectly utilise Sponsorship Intervention
Support to provide Youth Services via a range of Curriculum Development
Programmes

REGISTRATION
a The Purpose of Registration
The purpose of Registration is to identify providers and projects related
to General Youth Affairs and the personal development of young people
and to provide organisations with Recognition by the Board as a Youth
Services Provider.
b Who May Apply?
The broad spectrum of Youth Service Providers who are interested in Youth
Affairs
meeting the developmental needs of young people. These may encompass
a wide range of Youth Services Providers and Provision such as; Youth
Units, Youth Services Programmes/Schemes/Projects, Youth Service Related
Activities, Educational Providers, Community Groups/Agencies.
SPONSORSHIP
The SEELB Sponsorship Scheme has been developed with a view to;
- Meeting
the current needs of young people.
- Matching
the requirements and developments of Youth Services and Youth Affairs.
- Maximising
the effectiveness of all available Youth Services and Youth Affairs
Resources.
The Sponsorship Scheme provides an appropriate, flexible and effective
framework for Youth Services. Providers will benefit from the methods of
consultation, negotiation and appraisal, available within the Board Scheme.
The Sponsorship Scheme is designed to co-ordinate, integrate, compliment
and develop the activities of the numerous and varied Youth Service Providers
addressing the developmental needs of young people.
