BEHAVIOUR SUPPORT TEAM
A Senior Educational Psychologist and Senior Education Welfare Officer work in conjunction with officers from the Curriculum Advisory and Support Service to provide in-service training on behaviour management in schools.

BEREAVEMENT AND TRAUMA COUNSELLING

This service is being developed, initially on a pilot basis, to provide in-service training to school staff who may have children in their care, who have suffered trauma, including bereavement. Individual counselling is also available for such children. A Specialist Educational Psychologist takes a lead role, and the Psychologist who is routinely linked to the particular school may work alongside.

Sudden/Traumatic Death… ...where to turn?

This is an important new resource for people working to lessen the impact of traumatic bereavement on children and families. It comprises a comprehensive series of booklets which aims to give information and advice on how trauma and bereavement affects young people. There is a series of booklets for the young people themselves, as well as series for their relatives and for the professionals who care for them.

This resource is as a result of the work of the Child Bereavement Subgroup of the Trauma Advisory Panel (EHSSB). This group consisted of collaboration between the professionals who work with bereaved children in both the statutory and voluntary sectors of the EHSSB and with the Co-ordinator of the Crisis Intervention Support Service of the SEELB.
