2012/2013 PRE-SCHOOL, PRIMARY SCHOOL and POST-PRIMARY SCHOOL

PRE-SCHOOL AND NURSERY ENROLMENT
AGE 2 1/2 - 4 YEARS

The Pre-School Curriculum is not statutory but is based on guidance issued by the Department of Education and DHSS.

All pre-school centres offer enjoyable play-based experiences which also prepare children for their transfer to primary school.

The Pre-School Curriculum promotes all aspects of the child’s development through a rich variety of informal learning experiences.

You need to complete a single application which lists in order of preference those nursery schools/units/voluntary or private playgroups where you would consider sending your child.

You should contact the principal/leader of the centres in which you are interested in obtaining places. You will be given an information booklet and an application form.

You will find further information in the Board’s booklet entitled ‘Booklet for Parents – Enrolment to Pre-School Education’ which is available from your local pre-school, library or on request from our Transfer/Open Enrolment Section at Board Headquarters, Grahamsbridge Road, Dundonald, Belfast BT16 2HS, Tel: 028 9056 6568, transfer.enrolment@seelb.org.uk
