THE BOARD OFFERS FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TOWARDS THE COST OF A SCHOOL UNIFORM FOR PUPILS AT SECONDARY, GRAMMAR, PRIMARY AND SPECIAL SCHOOLS...

Pupils/students who live in the Board's area will be considered eligible for a clothing grant if they or their parents/guardians are in receipt of the following:

  • the parent/guardian is in receipt of Income Support or Income Based Job Seekers Allowance or Income-related Employment and Support Allowance, or if a pupil claims Income Support in their own name; or,
  • the parent/guardian is in receipt of Child Tax Credit and does not receive Working Tax Credit because they work less than 16 hours per week and have an annual taxable income of £16,190 or less; or,
  • the parent/guardian is in receipt of Working Tax Credit, has an annual taxable income of £16,190 or less and where the pupil attends a primary or special school and was born on or after 2 July 2000; or,
  • the parent receives the Guarantee element of State Pension Credit; or,
  • he/she is the child of an asylum seeker supported by the Home Office National Asylum Support Services (NASS).

Payment
When we have determined that an applicant is eligible, a cheque will be issued to the parent/guardian who undertakes to purchase the uniform items. For the 2011-12 academic year we will start issuing payments from mid July 2011.

Important Notice
Entitlement through Working Tax Credit is effective from September 2011.
