Branch Library Manager Alison Earley welcomes the work but apologises for the inconvenience that will inevitably result:

Our regular clients will know that the building needs urgent attention. The major part of the work involves replacement of the roof and windows. We are also installing automatic doors which will give improved access to the building. In addition, the whole entrance area is being refurbished. Although clients will suffer some inconvenience, their patience will be rewarded by a much more pleasant environment when the work is completed. We will be operating a reduced service from a mobile library parked on the library site from Monday 4 February.
