At midnight on 31 March 2015, the South Eastern Education and Library Board ceased to exist. The Education Authority (EA) became operational on 01 April 2015 and has taken over the duties and responsibilities of all five Education and Library Boards as a new, single organisation.
A large scale change programme is currently being implemented to manage the transition, over a number of years, from five organisations to one with responsibility for delivery of education services.
In the short term, there will be no change to the delivery of services. Five sub-regions which reflect the geographic areas covered by the ELBs will continue to exist so you will continue to access our services as before as the <insert> region of the new Education Authority.
