Curriculum
Introduction

Curriculum support and enhancement is provided by the Curriculum Advisory and Support Service (CASS) and the Music Service.

Under the terms of the Education Reform (Northern Ireland) Order 1989, the SEELB has a statutory duty to provide curriculum advisory and support services for schools in its area. In providing these support services, CASS officers are committed to the Board's mission statement:

"To raise the standards of learning and levels of achievement of the people of its area through the provision of high quality education, library and youth services".

CASS aims to make available a high quality service which provides effective support in the delivery of the School Improvement Programme, the Northern Ireland Curriculum, and the wider educational agenda within all schools in the Board's area.

The Music Service's declared mission is to make music accessible as a potential life-long activity and interest. In a spirit of partnership and interdependence it strives to enable talented and promising pupils and students to make friends with music and to make friends through music.

SEELB curriculum support and enhancement services include school-based training and development, and a broad range of courses provided through Board Headquarters at Dundonald, the Music Centre at Ballynahinch, and Resource Centres at Lisburn and Downpatrick
