The South Eastern Education and Library Board recognises the need for, and importance of, providing management support, training and development for Newly/Recently Appointed Principals in schools. In recognising this the Board considers the character and quality of the Principal to be the main influence in determining how effective a school is in achieving its aims and improving the quality of teaching and learning. Preparing, inducting and developing Principals is a major responsibility of the Board's service and complements the support and training offered by other agencies such as the Regional Training Unit.
