Chinese New Year is a very special time for Chinese people. Chinese people always wear new clothes at the New Year. My mummy is going to buy me sparkling red shoes, a long purple velvet dress and a multicoloured scarf and a gold ring. We have lots of sweets, Mummy puts them in a round golden box. They are wrapped in different coloured shiny paper. They are delicious, we eat them in the afternoon. Mummy and Daddy get red pennants and black paint. They paint Chinese words and pictures. We hang them all round the house. Jason and I help them.
