SPECIAL EDUCATION SERVICE

The Special Education Unit is responsible for identifying, assessing and securing provision for children who have educational needs, in accordance with the requirements of the Education (Northern Ireland) Order 1996. In addition to special schools and units, a range of specialist support services is provided to assist mainstream schools to meet the needs of pupils with special educational needs.
