INTERNAL AUDIT UNIT

The Internal Audit Unit provides advice and support to managers throughout the Board, to ensure that internal control arrangements are adequate and that the Board's assets are protected.

The Unit operates a rolling programme of visits to schools, libraries and out-centres so managers can expect a visit from audit at least once every three years.

A report on internal audit activity is presented to the Audit Committee each year.
